May 16th, thank you for being a success in connecting community, youth & ecosystems!

Founded after the 2014 Oso Slide and located in Darrington, Glacier Peak Institute empowers youth to build resilient and sustainable rural communities and healthy ecosystems ac ross the Glacier Peak region of Western Washington through innovative, action-based education programs integrating Science, Technology, recreation, Engineering, art, Mathematics, and skill-building (STrEaMs). We raised $65,000 for youth and communities during “An Evening UpSTrEaM” on May 16th 2024.

Funding makes our programming possible. In 2023-2024, Glacier Peak Institute…

  • Partnered with Washington State University 4H to hold our third annual Military Teen Adventure Camp for 106 youths

  • Provided a valuable paid workforce experience program for youth to gain trail work and forestry skills
